SECURING

 

Install a Master Kwikset No. 400T, US-3, PK67767KD on front and rear entry doors.  Where a lockset is not practical, use Master Padlock and Hasp (A389).  On other secondary entry doors with existing deadbolt locks, rekey to lock type 67767.  Install slide bolt on any remaining secondary entry doors on the 1st floor.

Screening of wood windows is accomplished by framing the window with 2x2’s.  The screening in stapled over the frame and fastened with lx2 furring laths.  See page 21 of this attachment for specific instructions and diagram.

 

In all other zip codes within the City of Chicago, the following will apply.  All openings which may be accessed from ground level and/or within 8 feet in any direction of an exterior stairway, fire escape, ramp, porch or other exterior construction reachable from ground level or a public way shall be secured with 5/8-inch exterior grade plywood and round-headed, non-slotted carriage bolts no less than 3/8-inch diameter with washers and nuts on the interior face.

 

In all zip codes in the city of Chicago we must either screen or board per city specifications.  A property is NOT in Convey Condition in Chicago if there are open bids to board per city specifications.  Please be aware that this is for Chicago ONLY.
