The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) delayed the effective date for policy changes published to Section III (Servicing and Loss Mitigation), Appendix 4.0 (FHA-HAMP Calculations) and Appendix 5.0 (Schedule of Standard Possessory Action and Deed-In-Lieu of Foreclosure Attorney Fees) of Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1.

HUD: Accelerated Access to Puerto Rico Disaster Relief Funds
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the obligation of $8.2 billion in Community Development Block Grant Mitigation funds for Puerto Rico, along with the removal of onerous restrictions unique to Puerto Rico that limited the island’s access to recovery funds that were allocated following Hurricane Maria in September 2017.

Included are revisions and additional clarifications to various FHA policies and programs since its last update on January 2, 2020, as well as the incorporation of changes previously announced in the Mortgagee Letters included in the Handbook Transmittal, which can be found on www.hud.gov.
