VA Servicer Handbook M26-4 Property Preservation Requirements and Fees Update
On July 1, the VA issued an announcement containing updates to Servicer Handbook M26-4. Specifically, a change has been made to Appendix H: Property Preservation Requirements and Fees. According to the updated appendix, properties that have been determined by the loan servicer to require boarding may now utilize polycarbonate/clearboard for windows, doors and other openings (french doors and sliding doors).

Clearboarding Demonstration Attracts Attention
DS News released an article highlighting a recent demonstration of polycarbonate window and door coverings that took place in the Cleveland, OH neighborhood of Slavic Village. The demonstration was conducted by Community Blight Solutions, founded by Chairman Robert Klein and featured Clearboarding products marketed through its SecureView Windows division.
