FEMA has issued a Major Disaster Declaration for the state of Nebraska to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding from May 15-18, 2026. The following counties have been approved for assistance:

- Fillmore
- Gage
- Howard
- Jefferson
- Nemaha
- Thayer
- Thurston
