Install a hasp or eyebolt using #5 Master lock key code A389 on front and rear entry doors. On other secondary entry doors with existing deadbolt locks, rekey to lock type 67767. Install slide bolt on any remaining secondary entry doors on the 1st floor. Mortgagees may use bracing to secure other doors leading to the exterior as needed. Specifically, bracing should be used only when exterior doors cannot be otherwise secured from the interior. If you have questions about when to employ bracing contact the M&M contractor.
Bracing - Cut a 2x4 inch brace board to fit between the interior doorknob and a cleat board nailed into the floor at a 45-degree angle.
Mortgagees must obtain prior approval from the M&M contractor prior to re-securing a property.
Swimming Pools:
Replace any damaged or missing boards or sections of fence. Remove all trash from interior of pool. As necessary, build frame and cover pool with appropriate decking or wire mesh in accordance and in compliance with State and local codes. Mortgagees do not need prior approval to secure pools.
Use of screws, including basement windows, to secure boards is prohibited except when securing casement or other fixed type windows. Written justification must be supplied when a method other than bolt boarding is used. 1/2-inch plywood is to be used with light holes cut in medium to large size boards. Boards are not to be pierced or overlap each other. Use 2-inch sheet rock screws every 7 inches. Boards are to be cut to fit within ¾ inch, of the opening. Do not overlap wood or cover side bricks.
Boarding is pre-approved in the following zip code areas, however, mortgagees must exercise judgment before boarding properties. Only board if property is in a high vandalism area and boarding is the only reasonable means to protect the security of the property.
