Memo 1142 - Contractor Web Enhancements 1-24-06
To: All Safeguard Contractors
From: Vendor Management

Please be advised we have implemented new programming changes to the contractor website. This release contains changes which will allow us to obtain the correct utility company information and status of utilities.

  1. Previously when any winterization type bid was completed the system would require the standard winterization completed utility information. By doing this it was showing as if a winterization was completed when that was not always the case. The winterization utility screen will now only appear on a work per bid order if the approved bid was to winterize. It will not show if the approved bid was to thaw, turn water off at the curb, pump the basement or replace the sump pump.
  2. Previously on utility transfer orders, the script would only require the utility company information if you stated the utilities were not transferred due to the mortgage company needing to contact the utility company. We will now be requiring the name and phone number of the utility company on all utility transfer orders, whether the utilities were transferred or not. The address and account number will still be an optional field, however if you have the information available we need you to enter this on the web.

As with all releases, you will need to clear your Java and browser cache after the new programming has been installed in order for it to work correctly. If you need additional clarification on any of the above information, please contact your Regional Open Order Coordinator. If you experience any technical problems, please contact the help desk at ext. 3999. Please continue to submit feedback to our Research & Development Department (rd@safeguardproperties.com), as the enhancements to our website are based on the information we receive from you as well as our clients requests and industry changes.
