Safeguard has assembled a list of Frequently Asked Questions and Answers concerning the new INSPI2 Program. This highlights some of the features and details you should keep in mind when making the transition from INSPI to INSPI2.
- New Users
- Firewalls and anti-virus software may prevent the program from being downloaded correctly. Inspectors need to add the website https://inspi2.safeguardproperties.com to their list of trusted websites.
- Reports run from the website use Adobe Acrobat Reader. Inspectors need to have this software (which can be downloaded free from the web) in order to view reports.
- Pocket PCs come with an active sync software program that needs to be installed prior to installation of the INSPI2 program.
- Pocket PCs need to have the external storage card installed prior to installation of the INSPI2 program.
- Orders completed on INSPI 1 will appear as open on INSPI2 for another 48 hours. Please allow time for them to fall off.
- INSPI2 is a web-based program, so it can be installed on, and work can be completed on, any computer with internet connectivity. The data is no longer stored on your local hard drive, but rather on Safeguards servers.
- Completed Results Results cannot be edited once theyve been sent to Safeguard. If any results are entered in error, the inspector must to call customer service to make corrections.
- Invoicing - INSPI2 automatically creates one (1) invoice every day for all results transmitted to SPI.
- Cancellations - Cancels are removed from the PC and Pocket PC immediately, to reduce the likelihood of the inspector completing a canceled inspection in the field.
- If a canceled inspection is completed in the field, the inspector has only 24 hours to log on to the internet and submit the results from the INSPI2 website.
- If a subcontractor completed the inspection and entered the results, the primary inspector still needs to approve the results within the same 24-hour period.
- Completed Orders - INSPI2 does not give the inspector the option to print or review completed inspections.
- Photo Page The photo page was designed to list all completed results, regardless of whether a photo is required.
- Orders will be removed once theyve been billed out by Safeguard. Photos may be sent at any time up until the order is billed.
- Once transmitted to Safeguard, photos cannot be removed.
- Wireless Data Coverage INSPI2 transmits photos as data and not as pictures. When purchasing a phone, camera, or Pocket PC (all-in-one), it is neither necessary nor recommended that you purchase a multi-media package from the cellular provider. You will not incur charges for photos sent through INSPI2; INSPI2 only requires internet connectivity.
- New orders are processed immediately and sent to INSPI2 immediately. Inspectors will see these orders before they receive email confirmation of them.
- Unlimited Data Access for Pocket PCs - INSPI2 Pocket PC version was designed to take advantage of unlimited data access for all inspectors across the nation. It was designed to automatically connect to the internet whenever there is sufficient signal strength. The data connection must be activated on the device in order for it to automatically connect. Please consult your device documentation and service provider for details, as equipment and providers methods vary widely.
- SystemIO.IOExceptions on the Pocket PC - This error occurs when the storage card cannot be read for some reason. If you do not see your login name and a verifying password message after initial log-in to the unit, eject and reinsert the storage card and use a soft reset to reboot the device. (Consult your documentation for the location of the reset button on your device.)
As always, we encourage your feedback and comments about this technology. If you have other questions about INSPI2, please contact Kellie Beyer (Kellie.Beyer@safeguardproperties.com, ext. 1362) or Dany Antonios (Dany.Antonios@safeguardproperties.com, ext. 1291).
Thank you for your continued cooperation.
