Memo 1122 INSPI2 Update July 2005
To: All SPI Inspectors
From: Vendor Management

Safeguard has begun the transition from INSPI to INSPI2. All inspectors are being changed over to the new program by September. To aid in the transition, Safeguard is conducting training sessions each week via WebEx Internet conferencing and AT&T conference calls. The training sessions are held several times a week, and the time slots vary to accommodate the different time zones.

Below are some comments from inspectors who have already made the transition, telling us how INSPI2s many new features are working out for them.

"With the new program, everyone at the office can work at the same time on multiple computers, so I dont have to put in a second shift to enter results to Safeguard.
- Joe from Tennessee

Because INSPI-2 is a web-based program, you can install the program on multiple computers and access your orders from any computer thats connected to the internet.

"The subcontractor management piece has cut way down on the amount of time I spend in the office, since the subs can pick up and map their own orders. It also helped me expand my coverage area.
- Tom from Indiana

INSPI2 includes many Subcontractor Management tools that INSPI did not. Inspectors can set up subcontractors in the program and have the computer automatically assign orders in their respective zip codes or counties. The subcontractors can log onto the web themselves and print their own orders, create their own routes, and enter their own results. INSPI2 also includes new quality control features to let the primary inspector check on subcontractors work.

"I loaded MS Streets and Trips onto my pocket pc, so if I get a new order while Im in the field, I can map it without having to go back to the office.
- Carrie from Ohio

INSPI2 offers a better routing system than INSPI, and it includes a feature to display all your orders on an Excel spreadsheet that can then be imported into Microsoft Streets and Trips. This feature makes it easier to incorporate orders from other field service companies into your daily route.

"This is great! I get new orders all day long, and I can complete them without having to drive back to that zip code 2 or 3 days later. I service really rural parts of Pennsylvania, so this saves me a lot of time.
- Sharon from Pennsylvania

INSPI2 does not run on a Palm device or a Blackberry: INSPI2 is a windows-based program that runs on Pocket PCs. Newer Pocket PCs come with built-in wireless connectivity to the Internet, and some devices can be set up with unlimited access to the Internet via data cards from cellular companies, so inspectors can receive new orders even while they're out in the field.

"I use a Pocket PC in the field, and it pops up any discrepancies and asks more specific questions now. Saves me a lot of time that I used to spend answering follow up questions from Safeguard.
- Casey from Texas

With INSPI2, Safeguard has the ability to build in question logic to each item on the inspection update. The program also gives us the ability to update question-and-answer choices without forcing our inspectors to download a new version of the program.

These are just a few of the enhancements made thus far. As you know, INSPI2 was developed by Safeguard specifically to address our clients' and our business needs and to improve workflow for our inspectors, so we welcome your comments and suggestions about the program, and we look forward to incorporating more feedback from all of our inspectors.

Please contact your Inspections Regional Coordinator or Dany Antonios (ext. 1291) to sign up for a training session, and thank you for your continued cooperation with our efforts to safeguard our clients' interests.
