The property
inspections industry is one in which technology is continually
changing. There was time when all inspection results were
mailed or overnighted, but with advances in technology, we
changed our primary method of communication to the fax. We
incorporated these changes into our processes because failing
to do so would not allow us to grow or provide the level of
service that our clients expected. Now Safeguard recognizes
that technology is moving toward making faxing obsolete.
Safeguard
Properties has created and is now using a computer program
called INSPI that allows an inspector to send inspection results
electronically rather than by fax. The program has been in
use for approximately one year, and over 70% of Safeguard
inspectors are currently using it. Many of these inspectors
handle a high volume of work and have successfully incorporated
the program into their field procedures and billing processes.
Safeguard is able to process these INSPI orders more quickly
than faxed orders, facilitating quicker payment to our INSPI
inspectors.
While
I understand that some of you may be reluctant to try this
new technology, I want to give you a few examples of the kind
of feedback provided by current INSPI users:
- "Here
is some feedback in regards to the INSPI program.... IT'S
WONDERFUL!!!!!! This program is much more efficient than
the old method of hand faxing every order, in which inspections
would sometimes mysteriously disappear. With the touch of
a button, I am able to see all open/completed orders, separate
according to priority, rushes, vacants, etc. Invoicing has
been made easier to track, and yes payment is quicker."
- "The
INSPI program has made my open look the best it has in years.
I no longer need to re-fax work and am able to know what
inspections need to be prioritized just by looking at my
computer screen."

As I have
stated many times before, the ability to adapt to changes
within the inspections industry is vital to remaining competitive.
We cannot afford to let advances in technology pass us by.
We must grow with the times and understand that the future
of the inspections industry is now upon us.
In recognition
of this, Safeguard will require all inspectors to have switched
over to INSPI technology by December 31, 2002. We think that
this will be beneficial for you, for Safeguard, and, most
importantly, for Safeguard's clients.

program. If you have not yet spoken with anyone about setting
up the INSPI program for your office, please contact the IT
