MEMO
#1020: Extermination Procedures - 11/21/02
This memo
will explain the required procedures for dealing with vermin
infestation at vacant properties.
A licensed pest control service (exterminator) is required
to properly fumigate a property infested with roaches, water
bugs, fleas, bees, wasps, yellow jackets, flies, or mice,
rats, or other rodents. The pest control service must be licensed
to conduct business in the area where the subject property
is located.
The extermination
bid must be itemized and should include the following:
- Licensed
exterminator's fee (must agree with the exterminator's receipt,
which is to be submitted with your update and invoice after
the extermination as evidence that the work was completed
by a licensed service company)
- Your
fee to give access, supervise the extermination, and document
that the work has been completed satisfactorily
When the
extermination is completed, you must provide the following:
- The
exterminator's receipt
- Your
invoice itemizing the extermination charges and your trip
charge
- Photo
showing the exterminator at the property with his/her equipment
and/or truck
- Your
update confirming that the extermination was completed satisfactorily
If you
have any questions regarding extermination procedures, please
contact the Safeguard office.
