Dewinterizations are performed to reverse a winterization on a property.

At times, a winterization must be reversed, for example to perform sales inspections or home repairs, or if a broker requests it during mild weather to improve a home’s marketability. In these cases, utilities will be turned on and water restored to the plumbing system, and the entire system will be flushed of anti-freeze.When the cold weather returns, the property will be re-winterized.  Contractors are instructed to maintain regular communications with listing agents through the process to assure that properties are not exposed to freezing risk.
