FEMA issued an update to a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration for the territory of the U.S. Virgin Islands as a result of Hurricane Irma from September 5-7, 2017. The action closes the incident period on September 7, 2017.

FEMA issued a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration for the territory of the U.S. Virgin Islands as a result of Hurricane Irma beginning September 6, 2017 and continuing. The following areas are eligible for assistance:

Individual/Public Assistance

  • St. John Island (County equivalent)
  • St. Thomas Island (County equivalent) 


Public Assistance

  • St. Croix Island (County equivalent)
  • St. John Island (County equivalent)
  • St. Thomas Island (County equivalent)
