Update: On January 3, FEMA issued an update to a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration for areas in Virginia as a result of Hurricane Sandy.  The following county is eligible for public assistance:

  • New Kent County

On November 26, FEMA issued a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration for areas in Virginia as a result of Hurricane Sandy.  Public assistance is now available to 25 counties and three independent cities:

  • Accomack, Arlington, Clarke, Craig, Culpeper, Essex, Fauquier, Frederick, Greene, Highland, King and Queen, Lancaster, Loudoun, Madison, Mathews, Middlesex, Nelson, Northampton, Northumberland, Prince William, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, Surry, Warren, and Westmoreland Counties
  • Fairfax, Falls Church, and Manassas Cities
