Camp Cheerful Volunteer Opportunity
In October 2013, Safeguard organized a volunteer opportunity at Camp Cheerful, an Ohio camp that offers recreation programs for children and adults with physical, developmental, medical and sensory disabilities. Camp Cheerful located near Cleveland, OH was preparing for an upcoming picnic taking place at their facility and were in need of volunteers to help them get ready.
More than 40 Safeguard employees stepped up to the plate and offered their time to assist Camp Cheerful in the upcoming picnic preparation. Individuals from many Safeguard departments partook, including Inspections, IT and estimates and repairs. The volunteers helped set up tents, raked leaves, removed debris from gutters, and cleaned the facility's rooms and bathrooms.
It was a very rewarding experience, knowing the difference they made for the picnic that the children and adults would be participating at in a few days. Many volunteers even registered themselves to continue volunteering at Camp Cheerful on weekends going forward.
